Steve Russell 

Restaurant Manager

Steve joined our team in late December 2018. He brings with him over 15 years of restaurant and customer service experience. Most recently, Steve spent four years at Kitchen On George, the last two of which he was the restaurant manager. His leadership contributions include helping Kitchen On
George maintain its unique status as Trip Advisor’s #1 rated restaurant in Mobile for over four years and receive several Nappie nominations for best restaurant wine list, best service, and best Bloody Mary using his made from scratch recipe. Steve grew up in Mobile, Birmingham, and Newnan, GA and is glad to call Mobile his home. He is passionate about educating people on creative food and wine pairings for all types of cuisine. Steve and his wife Stefanie have two boys: Michael, who is nearly 3 and loves airplanes, and Westley, who just joined the family one month ago! He hopes to give every guest at Eugene's an enjoyable experience that will leave them wanting to come back for more!

Rebecca James 

Kitchen Manager

Rebecca trained as a culinary and pastry chef at the National Culinary and Baking School in La Mesa, CA under Chef Dahl Smith and Chef Tomoko McGrew. She made the fine city of Mobile, AL her home five years ago and got her start at Von's food truck. Rebecca came to Eugene's Monkey Bar & Grill during hte pre-opening phase and has served in positions while helping creat and maintain the consistency and quality of the evolving menus. Her promotion to Kitchen Manager is well deserved. In her spare time she does community outreach and enjoys fishing with her husband, Dana, and their son, Gabriel. She claims she was born with a spatula in her hand and hopes to spread smiles to people through her food!

Shae Cross

Service Leader

Shae recently relocated back to her hometown of Mobile after wrapping up her life with her Coast Guard family and serving as public health advocate for the last 20+ years in Marin County, California. Living right in the middle of Wine Country in Sonoma County allowed her the opportunity to explore the region's vast amount of wine varietals, learn and love the local vintners, sample and learn a tremendous amount of knowledge from the winemakers. She is able to share those 20 years of wine enthusiasm with friends and family as she settles in and enjoys the beautiful Gulf Coast! Shae is the founder of our Wine Wednesdays. Shae's favorite wine on the menu is Petite Verdot!
